After getting many, mostly negative, reviews over his cover version of Adele’s Hello, Jimmy Gait has come out to explain.

“I was just doing the usual recording and I thought of doing a cover for the Hello hit song and be a little different from the other covers by passing a positive message.”

Asked whether he was affected by the caustic response his song elicited, the singer remained stoic

“As long as the message reached home. I am positive and happy. It was about the message,” he responded.

The reaction was felt the world over, the BBC even broadcasted the cover. So how does he deal with the attention?

Well, he revealed that he already has invitations to the United States and the United Kingdom to perform the song is among the UK top 40 songs, since it is a hit.

“All I can say is, I learnt a lot and I thank my fans for the support,” he said, before revealing that the video would be released by the end of this week.
