Dele Alli was held at knifepoint and assaulted after robbers broke into his house.

The Tottenham midfielder was punched in the face during the ordeal, which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Alli didn't suffer any serious injuries in the attack, but police confirmed two males stole jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.

The England international midfielder has been isolating with his brother Harry Hickford, their partners and a long-time friend in the house in Barnet, north London.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called at approximately 00:35hrs on Wednesday, 13 May to reports of a robbery at a residential address Barnet.

"Two males gained entry to the property and stole items of jewellery, including watches, before fleeing.

"One male occupant of the property, aged in his 20s, suffered a minor facial injury after being assaulted. He did not require hospital treatment.

"No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue."

According to the Daily Mail, Alli's property is covered by CCTV, and the midfielder has passed the football on to the police to investigate.

Alli is due back in training alongside his Tottenham team-mates as the Premier League edges towards a June 12 restart.
