Paris Saint-Germain are ready to cash in on Neymar this summer.

L’Equipe reports that the French champions are ready to sell the Brazil superstar, after he made clear his desire to leave the Parc des Princes.

Neymar only joined in 2017, joining in a £200million transfer from Barcelona - after PSG paid his Camp Nou release clause.

But the 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from Ligue 1 ever since his arrival.

Real Madrid were keen to do a deal last summer, after Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit for Juventus - but found PSG unwilling to sell.

Now Barcelona are being linked with their former charge and a deal taking him back to Catalunya which would stun world football.

Barca’s Champions League failure last term - falling apart against Liverpool in the semi-final at Anfield - has strengthened their resolve that they need to spend big again this summer if they’re to win Europe’s premier club competition.

Antoine Griezmann has looked the man most likely to head to Camp Nou - but that situation could now change, after PSG switched their stance.

Neymar arrived in France believing that it was his best opportunity to win the Ballon d’Or.

But he has been left frustrated in that regard, and in the side’s inability to compete for Europe’s premier club crown.

New PSG sporting director Leonardo is pushing for a change of tone in the French capital and has promised summer changes.

And he is seemingly banking on Kylian Mbappe, the French phenom, as the man to lead the club in the coming years, rather than the world’s most expensive player.

President Nasser Al Khelaifi declared on Sunday evening that the club will no longer tolerate superstar attitudes from the club’s biggest players, after a 2018-19 campaign full of controversy.

"Players will have to be more responsible than before," Al-Khelaifi told France Football. "It must be completely different.

"They will have to do more and work harder. They are not there for their own amusement. If they do not agree, the doors are open - Ciao!

"I do not want star behaviour anymore."

It is certainly not a coincidence the timing of his comments and L'Equipe's report.

However, a transfer will still depend on PSG recouping the vast majority of their outlay - if not making a profit.

Only a few clubs can complete a deal of this magnitude - notably the two Spanish giants, Manchester City and Manchester United.
