Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be in trouble with the FA over his involvement with a new betting company.

The Sweden international is expected to be helping launch BetHard company, which wants to become one of Europe’s leading sports betting brand.

According to the FA rules and regulations, players, managers, coaches, match officials and club employees are restricted from betting on matches, transfers, managerial appointments, team selection or disciplinary matters.

The ruling also prohibits individuals from advertising or promoting any betting activity they are forbidden from being involved in.

Therefore, the Fa are ready to look into Ibrahimovic’s reported involvement to see if he has breached their rules and regulations. If found guilty, the 36-year-old will be warned to stop his activity with the company or risk facing charges.

FA rules state: “An individual participant, when acting in a personal capacity, shall not be permitted to advertise or promote any betting activity that the participant is prohibited from engaging in by rule E8(1) or E8(2).”

Joey Barton is banned from playing until June 1 after he breached the FA rules by placing 1,260 bets on matches over a 10-year period.
