A jealous wife cut off her husband's penis with a pair of scissors while he was brushing his teeth after suspecting he was cheating on her.

Doctors have been able to successfully re-attach his penis but he has been warned he may never be able to have sex properly again.

The horrified man, named only as Li, believed she maimed his manhood in a grizzly bid to make sure he did not stray after he started a new job.

She had already demanded he have no contact with any other women, including not talking to them, answering their calls or even smiling at them.

But clearly she felt her demands were not enough and decided to carry out the sickening act in China's Jiangxi Province city of Fengcheng.

Li said rows about his suspected infidelity climaxed when his unnamed wife attacked him while he was naked in the bathroom about 7.30am.

He managed to cover his blood-drenched groin to stop the bleeding before packing himself off to hospital.

Doctors have warned him to be extra careful while recovering and said a sudden erection could damage new blood vessels.

Police are said to be investigating the case.

Li is not the first Chinese man to have lost his penis at the hands of a raging partner.

A wife was jailed for three years in Shanghai in 2014 for slashing her husband's member after he brought another woman home.

A sleeping guy lost his in the same city three months earlier because his girlfriend feared he would dump her when he woke up.

And a dad of five suffered a double-whammy in Shangqiu in 2015 when his wife hacked his penis off twice.

She cut it after he used her phone to send a raunchy message to his mistress - and did the same again by sneaking in to a hospital after it was reattached.
