Arsene Wenger names his potential successor, but it's not who you think

Arsene Wenger is used to the pressure of Premier League football for sure.
The 68-year-old still has a year left on his contract and is in no hurry to step off the Gunners throne just yet.
However, he has identified one man that he thinks is able to replace him at Arsenal, even though he still thinks he’s not ready yet.
According to English football outlets The Mirror and Talksport, Wenger believes former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira has the potential to manage in the Premier League.
Vieira was an Arsenal player for nine seasons, won the league three times. In his blissful Arsenal career, he also won four FA Cups and was part of the squad that won the league unbeaten in the 2004/04 season. The ‘Invincibles’.
He then moved to Italy to play in the Serie A for Juventus and Inter Milan before he came back to England to finish his career playing for Manchester City.
In 2016, he was appointed coach of Major League Soccer side New York City FC, a franchise on Man City’s football groups.
Wenger’s men sit 6th on the log, 14 points behind fourth place but still have a chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League if they win the Premier League. They will, however, have to outperform Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semi-final.
With pressure continuing to pile on the Frenchman, he has admitted that he follows Vieira’s performances in the MLS.
"He works in the moment in New York and he works for Man City. I've followed his managerial career. I think he does very well,” said Wenger as quoted on Talksport. He also talked of Vieira’s lack of managerial experience in the Premier League but tipped him to be a successful manager in the future.
“You have to come in. There are plenty of former players who played here who have potential and the intelligence and the knowledge to do it,” added Wenger.
He then concluded by asking those concerned about his replacement not to worry since he has a lot of options should he choose the next manager.
