Once again, Kenyan Parliamentarians have continued to fly the Kenyan flag high at the ongoing East Africa Community Inter-parliamentary games in Kigali Rwanda.

The women volleyball team, steered by captain Mary Wamaua (Maragua) beat the hosts in straight sets in a thrilling match on Wednesday night.

In a stunning display of agility and determination, the Kenyans handed Rwanda a humiliating 25-9 loss in the first set.

The team of legislators was propelled to the impressive win by great play from PSC Commissioner Faith Gitau, who was the top attacker, supported by her colleague setters Joyce Korir and Caroline Ng'elechei.

It was a much better show for Rwanda in the second set which Kenya eventually won 25-19 with Wanjiku Muhia, Amina Mnyanzi, Fatuma Masito and Jane Kagiri shining for the Kenyans.

The Kenyans were pushed to their limit in the third set before they eventually won 26-24, thwarting Rwanda's attempts to get back into the match and push it to the tie breaker.

In the men matches, it was another straight sets victory for the Kenyans against the hosts.

In their now signature style, the Kenyan legislators engaged the Rwandese Parliamentarians in a thrilling closely contested match, with Victor Koech and Jackson Mandago serving up Alfred Mutai and Dan Wanyama with what turned out to be the killer strikes.

Amid cheers with exuberance from fellow Legislators, the teams amassed motivation that earned them a 25-16, 25-22 and 25-20 win.

In basketball, the men team captained by Brighton Yegon, displayed an impressive play against their South Sudanese counterparts with a deserved 42-39 win.

The adrenaline, stamina and prowess exhibited by the Kenyas players filled the stadium with an atmosphere of jubilation and exuberance from fellow legislators cheering them on.

At the end of the third quarter the Kenyans were trailing 28-29 points and this added on to the players motivation to start the fourth with a burning desire to win.

It was indeed an impressive fourth quarter from the Kenyans who displayed great defensive and offensive play with star performances from David Wakoli, Japheth Nyakundi and Elly Letipila garnering a number of three pointers.
