SCHOOLS: Wiyeta Girls through to semis in Rwanda

Rift Valley heavyweights Wiyeta Girls are through to the semifinals of the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) football girls after picking their third consecutive win on Wednesday in Rwanda.

The national silver medalists defeated Amus College 2-1 to move top of Group B with nine points.

Wiyeta on Tuesday hammered Sacred Heart Gulu from Uganda 4-0 to pick their second win. The record national champions defeated APAER School from Rwanda 2-0 on Monday.

The win sees Wiyeta move join top with Amus College on nine points but with a game in hand. They will play Fountain Gate from Tanzania.

In Group A, Madira Girls have to beat Kawempe Muslim from Tanzania to stand a chance of qualifying for the semifinals after being held to a 1-1 draw against St Noa Girls from Uganda.

On Tuesday, Madira had to come from behind to hold Ziba Secondary School from Tanzania 1-1.

They are in Group A which also consists of Butere Girls, Rwanda's GS Gatizo, Kawempe Muslim, and St Noa Girls from Uganda.

In boy's category, national champions St Anthony's Boys Kitale improved their chances of qualifying after picking their first win in Rwanda by edging out Kalangalala 2-0.

St Anthony's lost 1-0 to Amus College from Uganda on Tuesday.

Kitale have five points and they have to win their remaining matche against d St Henry's College Kitovu to stand a chance of making the last four.
