The team of Nzomo trio Raphael, Jadini and Amani and Mitchel Morgan dethroned Tack Rack 5-4.5 to scoop the senior title in the three-day-competition.

The victory was a positive welcome to the Nzomo siblings Jadini and Amani who were taking part in their first event this season from the time they featured in Nairobi tournaments in January.

Amani scored a hat-trick in the four chukkas as Jadini returned a double for the duo to start the season in a grand style.

"It was a tough match but we got stiff opposition from Izzy Voorspuy who played really well against us but we (Samurai) edged her out," Jadini told Standard Sports.

Amani (Nzomo) won two diadems in the tournament emerging as the top scorer with a total of 10 goals from three he played on their way to the finals.

He (Amani) was voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP), a development that could see him don national team colours soon in a number of forthcoming international assignments and possibly earn a handicap promotion at the end of the season.

Voorspuy (Izzy) scored all the four goals for Tack Rack after they started the match at the advantage of half a fraction of a goal from their low handicap.

In the Plate competition, the Greenbelt team of Phillip Arunga, Omwakwe Arunga, Vishal Somai and Bobby Kamani won that title.

They beat Jules' Jewels team of Julian Camm, Cheza Millar, Kaila Millar and Sacha Camm 4-1.

Omwakwe and his dad, Phillip Arunga each scored a double while Julian Camm scored the consolation for the losers.

In the Stichbury Shield Will's Warriors secured the title after a win over Mamba Cruise.
