Nakuru County is ready to host the fourth edition of the County Assemblies Sports Association (CASA) games.

The events starting on August 19 to August 27, bring together all 47 County Assemblies.

Speaking in his office, Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Joel Karuri said they are more than ready to host the games which were established in 2018. Previously the games have been held in Kasarani, Uasin Gishu, and the third in Mombasa.

"The games unite Kenya's 47 County Assemblies for legislative, advancement through sports and culture," said Karuri who revealed that they have organised various sporting activities including track and field, ball games, and cultural events among others.

A football match will curtain raise the event on the opening ceremony slated for August 21 at Nakuru Athletic Club.

Preliminary ball games matches have been scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday next week at Kabarak University grounds. Semi-finals will take place on Thursday and Friday at Nakuru Athletic Club.

Karuri warned that as the host county assembly, their competitors will have a rough time as they will be the team to beat.

"We are prepared in all disciplines and being the host county, we have to rule," he said.

The Speaker said they are expecting at least 10,000 delegates and assured that security arrangements are in place.

Karuri during the address said investors in Nakuru will also see a boom in business. He urged the business community to prepare and reap from the games.

He said as a County Assembly it will be a moment to market Nakuru County as a great tourist destination.

The assembly will flag off the teams representing them in 16 disciplines on Friday.
