Kaplong Boys High School will face Tenwek High School in the football finals of Bomet County Secondary Schools Term Two ‘B’ games at Kaplong Primary School playground on Friday.

Kaplong Boys under the tutelage of the Chief Principal Mike Yator secured their spot after they beat Chemasingi Secondary School 1-0 in a thrilling match on Thursday.

They scored the all-important goal through Dennis Mogaka, who was the man of the match, after firing a left foot volley shot in the 15th minute that easily beat the opponent’s custodian.

On their part, Tenwek had to come from a goal down to edge out hard-fighting Olbutyo Boys  2-1 to book a date in the final with Kaplong Boys.

Tenwek scored the goals through Nimrod Kipngetich and John Harnold while Olbutyo Boys pulled one back via Shadrack Kiprotich.

During the preliminaries match, Tenwek had silenced Kaplong Boys by a solitary goal.

But Yator was quick to say that anything is possible in football but expressed confidence that they will outshine their opponents.

“This is totally a new game and we will change the tactics and improve on areas that had weaknesses,” he said.

In rugby, defending champions Longisa Boys High School have made their intentions clear after they qualified for finals when they defeated Kapletundo 24-5 in the semi-finals.

The 12-time champions, will face Olbutyo Boys, who blanked Kimulot High School 10-0 in the semi-finals.

Longisa head coach Wesley Yegon believes that they will retain the title.

“Longisa is known to be champion for rugby and we want that history to be written again today during the final match,” said Yegon.

He revealed that Kimulot have been their stumbling block in the hunt for the title and say experiences and exposure have led them to victory.

In boys’ 3x3 basketball, Kaplong Boys will face Boito Boys High School in the semi-finals while Tenwek play Kipsuter boys in the other semi.

In girl’s competition, Chebonei Girls secondary will square it out with Saseta Girls Secondary school in the semis as Kaplong Girls face Siwot Secondary School.
