With the selection of national squads for different international tournaments in the course of the year still on, Syngenta picked a 7-5 win over Nemguard in the Fawcus Cup at Manyatta Polo Cup in Gilgil on Saturday.

Performance of players in these tournaments will guide national teams selectors on whom to be selected for which team and for what tournaments.

Kenyan teams both male and female are expected to take part in a number of international tournaments this year as was last year and therefore players are keen to improve their performance in these and more matches.

In the first senior match of the Fawcus Cup, Casimir Gross led Syngenta on the victory 7-5 over Nemguard with three goals while the rest of the goals were shared between George MCorkell, Craig Millar and Tarquin Gross.

Jamie Murray, Archie Voorspuy, Kimoi Moi and Ben Stonewigg replied for the losers.

In another match of the same tournament, Mascor secured a decisive 7-4 win over Amiran.

In the Manyatta Cup, Davis and Shirtliff beat Monikoi.
