Kicosca games set to start tomorrow in Kisumu County

Kisumu County will host the 9th edition of the annual Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association (Kicosca) Games from tomorrow.

A total of 32 counties have since confirmed their attendance for the annual event which Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who will be chief guest.

The event will attract more than 8,000 participants, according to Kisumu County Governor Anyang Nyong'o.

Governor Nyong'o has since exuded confidence that Kisumu is well prepared to deliver a historical competition. Kicosca games are held annually in different counties and they are hosted on a rotational basis.

Among the disciplines are golf, handball, chess, scrabble, football, volleyball, basketball, netball, athletics and tug of war.

Pool, darts, badminton, table tennis, cultural dance, choir and ajua are also part of the displines in the games set to be held in 13 venues.

Kicosca was founded in 2013 at the onset of Devolution to showcase sporting talents.
