KCB garnered 43 points ahead of Nairobi Chess Academy whop came second with 29 points.
Jomo Kenyatta University Chess club finished third with 27 points.

This is the first physical encounter in the chess league since 2019 as the league was played online due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

KCB's Joseph Methu said, "We had a great game today, we managed to win all five games today going unbeaten throughout the season which is really incredible. For the league, we are happy to retain the title that we have now for the third time in a row."

KCB Chess Club team manager Isaac Babu lauded the team, alluding that the physical resumption has been vital in the title defense.

"When games were being played online, we could not ascertain if our opponents were playing a genuine game or getting help from a third party.

Right now, we are getting to enjoy the game once again and this has contributed to our win." Babu said.
The team is now shifting focus to the National championship set to be played on the December 26.
