Habala sails to Nomadic victory in Mombasa

Allan Habala booked a slot in the Nomadic Golf Series grand finale to be staged at the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort in Naivasha in early December after dominating show at the seaside Mombasa Sports Club course.

Habala from Diamonds Leisure Beach and Golf Resort grabbed the Overall title of the sixth leg of the series played at the Front course layout.

The sixth leg of the series was presented by Ostatech Group, DroneVision, Sun n' Sand Beach Resort, Licky Fish and Johnnie Walker.

Playing off handicap 10, he inked 42 stableford points to secure a four-point lead ahead of Men winner Dilip Shah and win the leg in style.

"My round was amazing. I hit 11 fairways out of my round with equally superb recovery shots. " Habala said. "My putting was also on point. Everything was simply great. The win was the icing on the cake."

Sharing the spoils with Shah on countback was handicap 16, James Gitonga to win Men Winner Second prize also on 38 stableford points.

The Lady winner prize was won by a handicap 34, Monica Mukundi after bringing in a score of 38 stableford points. Handicap 18 Gladys Mueni was the Lady winner second with 35 stableford points.

Eric Nyongesa bombed his shot the furthest to win the Longest Drive Men prize. Gladys Mueni won the Longest Drive Lady winner prize.

Youngster Fidel Wasike playing off handicap 8 was best among Juniors on a score of 38 stableford points.

Gurbux Singh playing off handicap 3 was the Gross winner with 74 Gross. Thika Sports Club's Martin Irungu was the Guest winner after carding a score of 34 stableford points.

Naveed Arif made history after sinking three twos during the tournament with two on the same hole to collect a total of 15 golf balls.

Clifford Tolo, Ostatech CEO John Mburu, Lawrence Odhiambo George Choge and Martin Ombura also sank twos with each receiving five golf balls for their feat.
