Former Kenya captain Luchivya appointed new KBF Secretary General

Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) has made history by appointing first female secretary general in basketball in Kenya and the region.

Angela Luchivya has been appointed acting secretary general of the federation following resignation of by the immediate former SG Ambrose Kisoi.

Kisoi resigned citing personal reasons.

KBF chair Paul Otula said they also appointed Moses Wanjara as acting Vice Secretary General.

Angela was recently appointed president zone five women commission.

Otula said the appointment was aimed at giving women more leadership role in the sports and promoting sports among the women folk.

He said Angela is a respected administrator will take the sports to the next level and will go places in sports management.

"Let me congratulate Angela. This is the way to empower women in sports management," Otula said.

"She is bringing on board her vast experience from the corporate business."

Angela thanked the team for honoring her and promised to deliver in her new post.

Wanjara thanked the team for his appointment saying he was committed to offer his service for the game he loves most.

"This is a challenging opportunity and I have promised to volunteer my time to serve in developing the sports " he said.
