Former Scarlet's right winger George 'Jojo' Ojwang is dead.
Ojwang, 62, died at the Nakuru Heart Centre on Saturday after a long battle with a heart condition.
He featured for Scarlet FC, a military side in the then-Kenya National Football League that featured in the 80s, alongside Ambrose 'Golden Boy' Ayoyi, Charles Odero, Jack Sihul, Elijah Koranga and Said Billo, among others.
"He who provides has also taken him away. May the will of the Almighty God prevail. RIP Daddy," Ojwang's wife Margaret Atieno told Standard Sports.
Atieno said her husband's death has left the family with a huge medical bill and appealed for financial assistance from well-wishers and football stakeholders.

The vice-chairman of the Kenya National Football Association (KENFOCA), Peter 'Kempes' Kamau, condoled with the family, describing the late footballer as a natural winger.
"He was a diligent player, and may he RIP," said Kamau.
According to Football Kenya Federation vice-president Doris Petra, Ojwang was one of the greatest talents to emerge out of the former Nakuru Youth Olympic Centre.
George Ojwang leaves behind a widow and five children.
