African 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala finished second for the second consecutive time in a week after finishing behind American Noah Lyles in Germany at the World Athletics Continental Silver Tour at the 2022 ISTAF Berlin on Sunday.

The Commonwealth Games champion crossed the line behind 200m World Champion Noah Lyles of the USA after clocking 10.11 for second place.

Lyles, who entered the race with third fastest times this season on the entry list of 10.05 behind Omanyala (9.85) and Ivorian Arthur Cisse (10.02), stunned all to bag the crown in a new season best of 9.95.

Britain's Jeremiah Azu sealed the podium places with his 10.16 seconds to finish third.

This was the second time in less than a week that Omanyala was coming home second.

During the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver race held in the city of Lucerne, Switzerland, Omanyala clocked 10.18 seconds behind America's Marvin Bracy who stormed to victory in 10.17.

Omanyala will now shift focus to Croatia where he is set to compete at the World Athletics Continental Gold Tour, the Memorial Borisa Hanzekovica, later this week.

Elsewhere, Beatrice Chebet won the 5000m race after sprinting in the final lap to win in 14 minutes and 44.25 seconds ahead of American Elly Henes (14:52.87) and compatriot Selah Busienei (15:10.14).
