Kisumu All-Stars on Monday afternoon sacked head coach Henry Omino following a streak of poor performances that have left the club fighting for survival in their debutant year in the Kenya Premier League.

 All Star’s CEO Nicholas Ochieng confirmed to the Standard Sports that they have parted ways with three members of the technical bench and appointing German-Based coach Arthur Opiyo on an interim basis.

He said Omino, formerly of Western Stima will be is joined in the sidelines by the team’s goalkeeper coach Joseph Ongoro and assistant coach Andrew Oroka.

"We have asked Omino to step down as the head coach after a series of poor performance in the league. He will be joined by one assistant coach and the goalkeeper trainer as we look to recruit new members of the technical bench."

“Francis Oduor will remain as the Assistant Coach as we go on a hunt for a new coach which we are ready to receive interested applicants from local coaches,” he said.

Commonly referred to as “Otenga”, the club is currently placed at position 16th in the table with eight points after having won two, drawn two, and lost 11 matches of the 15 games played.

Kisumu All-Stars was promoted back to the KPL last year after finishing runners up to the then National Super League (Betika Super League).
