Maseno University basketball outfit Maseno Dukes will face Kisumu Allstars in the 2019 Kisumu County Basketball League (KCBL) playoff finals to be contested in the best-of-five format, on December 21.

Maseno edged out Busia Raptors 2-1 in the best-of-three semifinal playoffs after winning Game One and Three 69-48 and 76-59 respectively.

Raptors won Game Two 77-71 but could not stop the Maseno-based outfit from gliding to the finals.

Maseno head coach Felix Anguko said they have their eyes fixed on the title and are keen on winning the first two matches to put the finals to bed.

“We have had a very tough but fruitful season and now we have the opportunity of crown it with the title. We are training very hard and working on our mistakes we have seen in the quarters and semis so that we remain clinical and precise in the finals,” he said.

Kisumu Allstars on the other hand knocked out defending champions Baylakers 2-0 and head coach Erick Mwoki is upbeat of ending their losing curse in the finals.

The Kisumu team dispatched the Homa Bay-based team 69-53 and 54-48 respectively.
