Mourinho poised to make Ibrahimovic move

Tottenham are reportedly poised to make a shock January move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic as Jose Mourinho eyes a reunion with the former Manchester United striker.
The Swedish superstar, 38, recently left LA Galaxy after two years in the MLS and is weighing up his options before deciding on his next move, which could well be his last before calling time on a glittering career.
And it is believed that Ibrahimovic is intent on having one final spell in Europe, with recent reports claiming that the charismatic striker was on the brink of returning to Serie A with AC Milan.
However, The Telegraph has claimed that Mourinho, who has replaced axed Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs boss, has highlighted the free agent as a potential new signing.
Ibrahimovic is known to have huge affection for Mourinho and, again, could be seen as a short-term solution to help lift Tottenham until the end of the season.
Mourinho signed the legendary forward for Manchester United in 2016 and, despite the striker eventually leaving in March 2018, the pair are believed to have remained good friends.
A lack of cover for Harry Kane was a regular criticism of Tottenham under Pochettino and Ibrahimovic's arrival could fill the hole.
The north Londoners also failed to replace back-up forward Fernando Llorente, who left in the summer, and Ibrahimovic would add undoubted attacking talent to Mourinho's strikeforce.
And Tottenham may be the only Premier League club willing to bring him back to England after United ruled out a move for their former striker, as claimed by The Telegraph.
A stumbling block, however, could be Ibrahimovic's wage demands, with Spurs chief Daniel Levy a tough negotiator and seemingly unwilling to damage his wage structure.
Mourinho, meanwhile, took part in his first press conference as Tottenham manager on Thursday and insisted that he is happy with his current squad.
He said: "I don't need players. I don't need players. I am so happy with what I have.
"I just need time to understand them better and know everything about them because I always say you only know a player when you work with them.
"Of course how many times have I watched these guys, how many times have I played against them?
"I knew them well but never know them well enough until you work with them and my gift is this squad because the squad is very, very good."
