Kenyans braced for qualifier

The national shooting team is sharpening its skills ahead of the Africa qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics planned for November 17-24 in Tipasa, Algeria.

Kenya will be represented by a team of 14 (nine men and six women) at the qualifiers that will double up as Africa Championships.

The squad includes 2015 Africa champion Gulraaj Sehmi, David Kirui, Christopher Saina, Maurice Morara, Idris Kasmani and Francis Kinyua who will battle in men’s 10m Air Pistol while Maryanne Cherotich, Linet Owiti, Dorin Okiri and Jane Wanjiru will compete in women’s event.

The shooting team is training under the guidance of India's Olympics bronze medallist Gagan Narang.
