Jorginho is ready to quit Chelsea to follow Maurizio Sarri to Juventus - a year after following the Italian to Stamford Bridge from Napoli.

Sarri is set to be presented by the Italian champions as their new coach on Thursday. Chelsea backed him by beating Manchester City the £50million eleven months ago.

But the Italy international’s agent, agent Joao Santos, has admitted he is open to a reunion. Santos said: “Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad. We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest.

“His past at Napoli won’t be an issue, because Jorginho is a professional.

“Right now, Jorginho is happy at Chelsea. He found a great atmosphere and we can’t really say that he’d like to go elsewhere, but anything can happen on the transfer market. We’ll wait and see…”

The comments represent a problem for Chelsea and potential new boss Frank Lampard with the club unable to sign a replacement if Jorginho leaves because of their transfer ban.

It also comes a week after Barcelona and Atletico Madrid indicated an interest in signing Brazil winger Willian.

Santos went on to explain why Jorginho is willing to rekindle his working relationship for a third time with Sarri.

“Sarri already showed at Napoli and Chelsea that he is a top level Coach,” he said.

“At a club like Juve, who have been so well-organised for years, he can only improve and continue to win. I’ve been tracking Sarri for five years and his style of football is very entertaining.

“Juventus will change, because before they would win without being convincing. Now they’ll convince too.”
