Mohamed Salah was a happy man after Liverpool claimed the Champions League title in Madrid on Saturday and understandably the Liverpool talisman got attention from the press.

But the Egyptian assassin faced an awkward moment in a post-match interview as the celebrations were going on at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

Due to the noise of the raucous crowd in the stadium, a female reporter interviewing Salah leaned forward to be heard over but apparently the Egyptian thought it was something else and he backed away.

The Spanish journalist, Isabel Forner, interviewed Mo Salah moments after the Champions League final but the Egyptian misjudged the reporter's movements and he ducked out.

Salah is a happily married man and he clearly didn’t want to be kissed by the reporter no matter the glorious moment in Madrid after Liverpool’s triumph.

Salah and his wife, Magi, married in 2013 and they have a daughter called Makka who was born in London in 2014 when Salah was playing for Chelsea.

Liverpool fans caught the awkward moment and took it to Twitter.

“He's like my wife is here,” commented one user with another commenting, “you simply don't touch the king.”

Liverpool edged Tottenham for a sixth Champions League title through Salah’s early penalty strike and Divock Origi who struck late in the match to crown the Reds European champions.
