‘Anything is possible’

Following reports of a looming take over by Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan, cousin to the current Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour, Newcastle fans have demanded coach Rafael Benitez launch bids for Europe’s best players.

On Tuesday, May 28, the Abu Dhabi billionaire confirmed he agreed terms with current Newcastle owner Mike Ashley to buy the club for a reported fee of 350 million pounds.

“We can confirm that representatives of His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nahyan are in discussions with Mike Ashley and his team, about the proposed acquisition of Newcastle United Football Club. We view it as an honour to have the opportunity to build on the strong support, history and tradition of the club. We have agreed terms and are working hard to complete the transaction at the earliest opportunity,” read a statement from the Sheikh’s representatives.

With the transfer window almost open, Newcastle fans took to social media to ‘help’ Rafael Benitez – suggesting players he should sign if he’s given the alleged 250 million to spend.
