Barcelona have given fans a chance to watch a training session through the eyes of arguably the greatest player to ever grace the game - Lionel Messi.

The striking footage was taken from a Wednesday training session and was recorded by strapping an action camera to the Argentinian maestro's head.

In the video posted on Barcelona's Twitter account, Messi can be seen scoring goals, participating in a rondo, kicking a ball at a target, signing autographs for fans, and chatting with teammate Luis Suarez.

Despite a famous eye for goal, Messi can even be seen missing a couple of easy chances which are saved by 'keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The footage also shows Messi having a conversation with teammate Malcolm, as well as scoring from a cross provided by Ousmane Dembele, for which Messi gives him a thumbs-up.

The footage gives a unique glance into what a training session is like for a footballer at the very highest level.

Messi scored 34 goals in 33 La Liga appearances as Barcelona cruised to the 2018/19 La Liga title.

Nevertheless, the Catalan side were caught short in the Champions League after Liverpool produced a stunning comeback in the second leg to win 4-3 on aggregate.
