Gor Mahia star Francis Kahata has been praised by various netizens after he was spotted handing a K’Ogalo shirt to a young fan who was seen on social media wearing a self-made ‘Kahata 8’ shirt.

The fan’s picture was posted on Facebook with a caption in Swahili which read “Ifikie Kahata”.

It now looks like the Gor Mahia hotshot has tracked the young faithful and awarded him a new jersey with his name on the back.

Kahata now follows the footsteps of European players who have also awarded their fans for such loyalty.

On March 12, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil made a Kenyan herdsboy’s day by sending him merchandise, after the boy appeared on social media donning self-made Ozil shirt while looking after cattle in Nairobi.

Lawrence was spotted by Sports journalist Eric Njiru in the capital taking care of the heard. The journalist tweeted the photo and tagged Ozil and Arsenal.

“I saw this kid today grazing in the streets of Nairobi - a city without really grass for cows. He told me he loves MesutOzil1088 so much (You can see his shirt). Maybe one day this can reach Ozil and get a real Arsenal shirt,” tweeted Njiru.

Lionel Messi also performed a similar gesture in 2016 when he gave a signed Argentina shirt to an Afghan boy who was spotted wearing a self-made plastic jersey.

Here are some comments on the pictures as seen by Game Yetu.

Pure class by Kahata. Mad respect for this. Good thing is that it happens few weeks after Ozil gifted a kid an Arsenal shirt. pic.twitter.com/T6ufRZ1Rz0 — T. Kla Wesley Jr. ???????? (@WesleyKla) March 30, 2019
