Seeded at the top of group C, the Kenya Pipeline ladies' volleyball team has been paired together with shooting sports of Egypt, Rwanda Revenue Authority of Rwanda and FAP of Cameroon as the 30th edition of the Africa Club Championship for senior women serves off tomorrow in Cairo Egypt.

The seven times African queens are among two other Kenyan representatives to the continental duel; Kenya Commercial Bank and Kenya Prisons.

In a draw conducted at the Al Ahly sports club, KCB has Club Feminin de Carthage (CFC) of Algeria, DGSP of Congo and Sporting Club of Egypt to contend with for the two top slots for quartet finals.

Another Kenyan club Prisons has Asec Mimosa of Cote, Nkumba University of Uganda, Algerian giants GSP and Egypt's El-Shams to volley out.

Speaking after the draws, KPC head coach expressed optimism of sailing through the group stage.

"Going by the level of preparation we have done, I see no reason why we should not reach the knock out stage. We have an enviable blend of young and experienced players and therefore good outcomes should punctuate our games" she said.

Captain Triza Atuka concurred with the coach. She avers that though it is never good to count the chicks before they are ultimately hatched, sometimes looking at the possibilities, one can with utmost certainty predict what the ultimate destiny would be. One such circumstance is this,” Atuka said.

On their side, KCB who recently listed the services Japheth Munala from KPC said even though it's been long since they last participated in the continental diadem, the team is ready for a serious comeback.

Munala is optimistic one of the Kenyan teams will acclaim a podium finish.

"Unless the unthinkable happens, I am envisaging one or two Kenyan teams dotting the medals podium", he predicted.
