All eyes were on Alex Iwobi as he came on to replace Mesut Ozil at the half way point of Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Brighton on Boxing Day.

World Cup winner Ozil wasn't putting in the kind of hard-working performance Unai Emery demands from his Gunners players and was hauled off by the Spaniard.

Iwobi, who has been performing well for Arsenal this season, took to the pitch in his place, but it seems missed a vital conversation with Emery in the changing room.

Upon making his way onto the pitch Iwobi was seen walking over to Gunners team-mate Granit Xhaka with a rather important question in need of answering.

It can't be confirmed exactly what the midfielder asked his team-mate, but it appears that he at the very least mouths: "What formation?"

Fans on social media had a field day on the back of the exchange between the two Gunners stars, with one tweeting: "Iwobi didn't even know what formation Arsenal were playing."

Emery's pretty erratic half-time change didn't have the desired effect and the Gunners were unable to find an all-important winner against Brighton.

After the match Emery said: "Tactically some matches I did that [make changes].

"I wanted to control better the positioning on the pitch, but in the second half we couldn't do our ideas on the pitch to impose. We created less chances in the second half."
