Manchester United have seemingly inadvertently announced the signing of young goalkeeper Paul Woolston.

Woolston, 20, joined United on trial in September following his release from Newcastle.

He had hoped to earn a full-time contract with United but there had been no announcement from the club.

But Woolston was pictured in United training on Tuesday as Jose Mourinho's men prepare for this weekend's clash with Crystal Palace.

The young goalkeeper posed for a group photo with pop star Anne Marie, who had made a special visit to Carrington for Monday's session.

Woolston was pictured in United's blue goalkeeper training top alongside the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Ashley Young.

He was wearing the No.32 on his training top although there remains no sign of the goalkeeper on United's official website.

Jose Mourinho let young goalkeepers Joel Pereira, Dean Henderson and Kieran O'Hara leave Old Trafford on loan in the summer.

Sergio Romero and Lee Grant remain back-up options to David De Gea.

Jose Mourinho put his depleted squad through their paces at Carrington ahead of the Palace clash.

The likes of Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard are yet to return following their international excursions with England.

Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba were not spotted in training after missing international duty through injury.

It remains to be seen if they will be fit to take on Palace this weekend ahead of a busy few weeks for Mourinho's squad.

They take on Young Boys in the Champions League next week before facing Southampton and Arsenal.
