Mourinho was left speechless at the way his side had performed in the first half

Manchester United fans are accusing Jose Mourinho of making a decision to hit back at Paul Pogba, which has cost them in the first half against West Ham.

After drawing against Wolves Pogba called on his United team-mate's to "attack, attack, attack," suggesting they'd be told to do otherwise by the boss.

Mourinho lined up very defensively away at the London Stadium on Saturday, with a unusual formation that sees five players at the back when West Ham are attacking.

And fans are convinced Mourinho has gone more defensive to spite Pogba, after he questioned his leadership in an interview with the press.

On Twitter, one fan wrote: "Pogba says United don't attack enough, Mourinho drops a forward for an extra defender. West Ham score after 5 minutes."

Another added: "Pogba insisting that we attack so of course Mourinho sets us up in a back five." A third said: "Pogba said attack attack attack and Jose purposely sent him out there to defend.

A fourth added: "Are you surprised by this scoreline because I'm not because Jose Mourinho starting lineup was shocking and Jose is past it.

"Pogba was correct and we don't attack attack anymore defend defend is our way of playing."

And a five concluded: "Seems like Jose has taken the Pogba criticism that Manchester United should attack attack attack to heart and decided to scrap any plans to attack.
