Isuzu reward Eliud Kipchoge with car

World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge yesterday hinted that he might break the record set at the Berlin Marathon.
Just 11 days after the 2:01:39 world record, Kipchoge looked non-committal on whether the world record can still be lowered, but said “all is possible.”
The three-time London and Berlin marathon winner said it was possible for a human being to run under two hours. Last year, Kipchoge ran a jaw-dropping 2:00.25 at the Nike Breaking 2 Project in Monza, Italy, at the Formula One course which was illegible for ratification.
“In my community, they say never chase two rats. I am at the moment concentrating on my recovery after breaking the world record. I have run 2:00 before and nothing stops me from doing it again,” Kipchoge said in Eldoret yesterday.
He added: “There are more than 5,000 marathoners in Kenya and each of them has the ability to break my record.”
Kipchoge spoke after receiving a Sh5.9 million Isuzu DMax double cabin pick up from Isuzu East Africa. The company had renewed the brand ambassador partnership with Kipchoge. “I am humbled to be Isuzu ambassador. They have given me an extra leg,” he said.
He was accompanied by Amos Kipruto – the second runner-up in Berlin and winner Gladys Cherono. Two-time Olympic 3,000m steeple chase champion Ezekiel Kemboi said he will make his debut in marathon next year. after more than 18 years on the track.
