Pep reveals what he told the referee before he was sent off

Second-leg of the Champions League quarter-finals last Tuesday saw a mouthwatering clash between Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Jurgen Klopp’s led side extended their first-leg form to the second-leg winning the tie on a 5-1 aggregate. Liverpool won 3-0 in the first-leg at Anfield and on Tuesday thrashed Pep’s side 2-1 at the Etihad.
Second-half goals from Moh Salah and Roberto Firmino helped The Reds win the match and crushing any hopes of City making a comeback.
It was a very memorable night for Jurgen Klopp and his boys unlike to Pep Guardiola who was furious at the referee at half time after a first-goal from Leroy Sane was ruled out for offside.
The confrontation saw Pep Guardiola sent off by Spanish referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz.
Asked what he said to the official at half time, Guardiola was quoted by The Mirror saying, "I said it was a goal.
“Milner passed it to Leroy. I said it was a goal and that's why he sent me off.
"I didn't insult him, I just said it was a goal. I said the pass came from Milner, so it couldn't be offside.
“He’s a referee, he likes to feel different, he’s special. When everybody sees things, he's going to see the opposite.
“It was too much to send me off, because I didn’t say any wrong words.
“But I know the referee from Spain, so i could imagine that.
"We spoke about it beforehand - we know him.
“It's difficult when Salah's goal at Anfield is offside and it's different when Gabriel Jesus' goal at Anfield is offside.
"In this competition the teams are so equal,so the influence of refereeing decisions is so important.”
The Spanish manager will bow turn his focus on the Premier League title after they failed to carry it in the weekend after Manchester United managed an epic comeback, courtesy of a brace from Paul Pogba and a goal from Chris Smalling to help United win the match 3-2 at the Etihad.
