Cristiano Ronaldo has given Real Madrid's bosses the mission to sign Manchester United keeper David De Gea.

Real have been long term admirers of the Spain No.1 shot stopper after narrowly missing out on bagging him in August 2015 only to be scuppered by a fax machine.

De Gea has played 280 times for United since joining from Atletico Madrid for £19m but could be back in Madrid if Ronaldo gets his way, according to Diario Gol.

Ronaldo, who left Old Trafford for the Bernabeu in 2009, is also leaning on Zinedine Zidane to capture Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois if he can't lure De Gea to the Spanish capital.
