Posta Rangers yesterday received a Sh15million boost from Lotto in their bid for an improved performance in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).

The money is part of the Sh45million three-year sponsorship deal the team received from Lotto.

It will be used mostly to pay allowances and purchase kits. Rangers vice chairman Gichuki Njeru said the money come in handy and will use it to motivate the players in their remaining league matches.

“This is a big motivation for our players and we will ensure they are well rewarded so that they can perform even better in the remaining matches of the league.

“We are promising you as our sponsors that we will finish among the top four,” he said.

Rangers were fourth last season but have had the going tough this time around despite a good start to the season.

The team handled by former international Sammy Omollo are currently placed sixth on the log with 39 points and two wins in the remaining six fixtures will guarantee them atlest a top four finish.

Lotto Foundation Chief Executive Officer (CE0) Brian Waluchio said the sponsorship is part of their efforts to improve sporting standards in the country.

“We are keen on helping our youth to improve their talents ,” he said. [Gilbert Wandera]
