The Dutchman lost his first four Premier League games in charge without scoring a goal and has been given the boot after just 77 days.

According to a statement on club's website, the English side parted ways with De Boer this morning, and a new manager will be appointed in due course.

‘’Crystal Palace Football Club have this morning parted company with Frank de Boer.

We would like to thank Frank for his dedication and hard work during his time at the Club.

A new manager will be appointed in due course and we wish Frank the very best of luck for the future.

There will be no further comment at this time’’

Palace's 1-0 defeat by Burnley proved to be the final straw for Chairman Steve Parish.

And former Fulham, Liverpool and England boss Roy Hodgson is the favourite to replace De Boer.

Palace's season began ominously with a 3-0 home defeat by newly-promoted Huddersfield.

A 1-0 defeat at Liverpool followed before Swansea left Selhurst Park with all three points at the end of last month.
