Alexis Sanchez was booed by a section of Arsenal fans against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium after his transfer deadline day move to Manchester City collapsed.
The 28 year old came off the bench for his first Arsenal appearance this season in the closing stages of the Gunners' 3-0 win over Bournemouth , with the pair replacing two-goal Danny Welbeck and Alexandre Lacazette, who grabbed Arsenal's other strike.
And while there were cheers from some supporters when he entered the field, the boos that accompanied them were impossible to ignore.
However, Arsene Wenger backed Alexis Sanchez by saying that he (Sanchez) will win over his critics quickly.
‘Alexis Sanchez will win the fans back, and win them back very quickly,’ said Wenger.
