Tottenham are plotting a January transfer swoop for Ross Barkley meaning they could beat Chelsea to another signing.
The Everton midfielder decided at the last minute to turn down a move to join up with Antonio Conte’s side and stay on Merseyside.
It means his future will likely be up in the air once again when the transfer window re-opens, and reports indicate that Spurs will look at securing a deal for him then.
Should they manage to bag the England international, it would be another bitter pill for Chelsea to swallow after their London rivals beat them to the signature of Swansea striker Fernando Llorente.
According to reports Barkley rejected the chance to join Chelsea by changing his mind after the medical.
