The pair accidentally collided as Romero missed a high ball during the team's first training session since gathering in Buenos Aires for the forthcoming internationals.

Argentina are getting set to face off against Uruguay and Venezuela in two crucial World Cup qualifiers.

Argentina have gathered to prepare for the next two games and it was during a drill that Barcelona star Messi's collision with Romero occured.

The pair laughed off the collision, despite Messi initially appearing dazed by the contact.

Argentina have a star-studded squad heading into the penultimate round of qualifiers, with the likes of Paulo Dybala, Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria also in training.

Their manager, Jorge Sampaoli, is hoping to inspire success just as he did with Chile, where he won the Copa America on two separate occasions.

A top four berth in qualifying would secure Argentina their place in the World Cup finals, while finishing fifth would see them enter the play-off round.

As it stands, they would face off against the winner of Oceania qualifying, which should be New Zealand.
