Chelsea have reportedly made a £25million approach to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal.

The England midfielder’s contract has less than a year to run and negotiations between club and player have so far proved fruitless.

Oxalde-Chamberlain’s progress has stalled at Arsenal and the 23-year-old wants assurances over his playing time.

Chelsea’s first approach has been rejected, according to the Mail, but the Blues are determined to prise him away from north London.

The Premier League champions have sold or released eight players over the summer but signed just four and Conte is desperate to add to his threadbare squad before the end of the transfer window.
