Boxing Association of Kenya (BAK) vice president Albert Matito has said they are still determined to come up with a formidable side for the continental qualifiers to Congo Brazzaville despite the financial constraints the federation is facing.

Speaking to The Standard Sports yesterday, Matito said: ”We are still determined to select a formidable squad for the continental qualifiers despite the financial challenges we are facing.”

A total of 16 teams are expected to grace the Thika championships led by defending champions and league leaders Kenya Police and their archrivals Kenya Defence Forces.

The World Boxing Championships will be held in Hamburg, Germany, in September.
