National and East Africa secondary schools girls’ basketball champions Kaya Tiwi inched closer to retaining their title after securing a place in Friday’s semi-finals. The Coast Region girls were unrivalled as they won their Group B matches against Western’s Tigoi Girls and Loreto Limuru of Central. Tiwi beat former national and East Africa holders Tigoi 69-45 in their opening match before thrashing Loreto 51-19. In their clash against Loreto, Winnie Akinyi top scored for Tiwi with 19 points while Bellin Khavere had 10.
