The 23-year-old China-based striker opened the scoring after six minutes in eastern town Machakos and struck the winning goal with 19 minutes remaining.

Gael Kakuta had levelled for the Congolese on the hour mark as they sought to avenge a shock 1-0 home defeat by Kenya last October in another friendly.

Kenya began their unbeaten run under coach Stanley Okumbi last May by drawing with Tanzania.

The "Harambee Stars" have won five matches and drawn five, scoring 11 goals and conceding six during that spell.

Kenya are preparing for their opening 2019 Cup of Nations qualifier at home to Sierra Leone in June.

DR Congo have a home date with Congo Brazzaville in the same competition plus two crucial World Cup qualifiers against Tunisia in September.
