Arsenal are considering hijacking Liverpool's move for Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke.

That is according to Football.London, who say the Gunners are monitoring Solanke's situation.

The 19-year-old is yet to pen fresh terms at Stamford Bridge and has been linked with a switch to Merseyside.

His contract runs out at the end of the season, and Solanke reportedly wants a pay hike from his current £7,000-a-week wages to around £50,000-a-week.

Any potential move to the Emirates would not be dependent on the future of manager Arsene Wenger.
