Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo look set to return to Manchester United 's squad for the crunch clash with Liverpool.

The Swedish striker missed the midweek EFL Cup semi-final with Hull with illness while Argentine Rojo limped out of the FA Cup win over Reading on Saturday.

But both look set for recalls when United host their bitter rivals on Sunday afternoon, report the Manchester Evening News.

Even though Rojo missed the tie with Hull it is understood Mourinho intended on resting him anyway.

The likelihood now is he will reunite with defensive partner Phil Jones against Liverpool, with Chris Smalling set to miss out.

"I think they are available. I cannot confirm with 48 hours to the match but I think so," Jose Mourinho said of Ibrahimovic and Rojo on Friday.

"I think they are closer to being ready than not being ready."

Marouane Fellaini and Luke Shaw were not spotted among the squad members who disembarked the team coach at The Lowry hotel on Saturday evening.

Fellaini, however, did arrive separately from his teammates for a recent home game at the city centre hotel.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mourinho, who still both reside at The Lowry, were pictured returning there hours before the United coach turned up.

Daley Blind, who lives near to The Lowry, tends to link up with his teammates at the hotel.
