Athletics Silver medalist Ian Mutuku Collapses and Dies

The Kenya athletics fraternity is in grief after receiving the sad news that 2014 Africa Youth Games silver medalist, Ian Mutuku had collapsed and passed on at a hospital in Machakos.

The 19-year-old had finished fourth at both the 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships in Donetsk, Ukraine and 2014 Olympics Youth Games.

According to his coach Peter Muia, the 2013 national youth champion checked himself into Machakos Level 5 Hospital on Friday with a swollen body.

It is suspected that Mutuku had succumbed from complications on a kidney problem.
