'Iron' Mike Towell, 25, from Dundee, was given oxygen and stretchered out of the ring after being knocked down during a boxing match.

The Scottish boxer is still in a coma after suffering serious injuries during the fight last night

Anxious fans at the Glasgow fight watched as the welterweight was taken away minutes after suffering a series of punishing head blows at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

Towell collapsed after the fifth round of his fight against Dale Evans in Glasgow.

His manager was quoted as saying the boxer had sustained “a serious injury”.
