Nlend sacked by Egyptian club after after testing HIV positive

Cameroon international Samuel Nlend has been sacked by Egyptian Premier League club, Al Ittihad after testing positive for AIDS. The 21-year-old was fired just four days after signing a three year contract.

There are no rules against playing football with the condition but it’s unlikely Nlend would be able to get a work permit in another nation.

The promising star has been capped five times by Cameroon, scoring in January’s African Cup of Nations competition before securing a summer move to the Egyptian Premier League club.
