Cesc Fabregas wants to dump Antonio Conte out of Euro 2016 so he can focus on his new job at Chelsea.

Italy boss Conte will take charge at Stamford Bridge at the end of the tournament but there will be no favours from Fabregas as Spain stand in the Azzurri's way in the last 16.

Despite winning Group E, Italy were handed the nightmare draw after Spain's collapse against Croatia ensured that they would finish runners up in their group.

It means that Conte will meet Fabregas a few weeks earlier than initially planned.

But Fabregas has revealed that it will not be his first meeting with the 46-year-old.

“I met Conte briefly and he made a very good impression,” he said.

“He is a great coach, a winner. He told me what he wants from me, what he wants to do at Chelsea and various other things that will remain private.

“I really want to start working with him. Now I hope he can get to work at Chelsea as soon as possible. Hopefully from Tuesday he can concentrate on his new job!"
