Manchester United have had a £28million bid for Roma defender Kostas Manolas rejected.

Jose Mourinho is believed to still be seeking defensive reinforcements despite already landing Eric Bailly from Villarreal earlier this summer.

It is claimed that Manolas was the man that United decided to go for but their initial offer has been turned down.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also believed to have shown an interest in the Greek star but it appears that he is currently mulling over a new contract in Rome.
